EMERGENCY PROCEDURES

Dear Parents,

In the event of an emergency such as fire, flood, earthquake, power outage, etc., it could be necessary to send our entire school population home early. Please help us by cooperating with the following procedures:

1. Arrange an alternative destination within your neighborhood for your child to go in the event school closes and you are not home. THIS IS VITAL.

2. Discuss the arrangements clearly with your children so you are certain they know what they are to do.

3. Walking students will be dismissed when we receive early closure instructions from the Superintendent's office.

4. Bus riders will remain on the school grounds until their bus or other transportation arrives to take them to their regular bus stops.

5. Children will not be allowed to use the telephones.

6. We ask that you do not try to call the school. In an emergency we will need to keep phone lines open.

We would like to emphasize the importance of these procedures. Your child(ren) will need to know where to go, what to do, or how to gain entrance to your house. They should be where you want them and not to go home with someone else. Please keep the upper portion of this notice as a reminder of what our procedures are; also note the instructions you have given to the school.
